We are the leading producer of electricity and heat from biogas in Poland. PGB operates 21 assets across the country, which are processing over 800,000 tons of organic waste annually. This waste is converted into electricity and heat through a combined heat and power (CHP) cycle, as well as into a biologically valuable fertilizer. Our annual production capacity exceeds 0.5 TWh of biomethane equivalent, and our ambition is to reach 2 TWh by 2030, while expanding our business model to include the purification of biogas to biomethane quality and injection into the gas grid. We are currently working on several dozen new projects at various stages of development, including a number of investment initiatives already under construction or about to be Final Investment Decision (FID).
Established in 2007, our organization became part of TotalEnergies in 2023. In September 2025, the Norwegian investment fund HitecVision acquired a 50% stake in PGB. At that point, PGB became a joint venture between TotalEnergies and HitecVision — combining the expertise of a global leader in energy transition with the capital and know-how of one of Europe’s foremost investors in renewable energy.
Our operations are at core of the circular economy philosophy – thanks to business model which focuses on processing of the organic waste and capturing methane — one of the most harmful greenhouse gases – which otherwise would be release to the atmosphere. As a result of the biogas production process, we generate a liquid digestate rich in micro and macro elements, which significantly enhances soil quality. Learn more here.
