About PGB

Polska Grupa Biogazowa (PGB) is the largest producer of electricity and heat from biogas in Poland, holding a 15% market share. PGB employs 200 people and operates 21 assets across the country. The company converts waste into electricity and heat through cogeneration and into a biologically valuable fertilizer. PGB’s annual production capacity exceeds 0.5 TWh of biomethane equivalent — enough to power more than 90,000 households.

PGB aims to reach a production level of 2 TWh by 2030, while simultaneously expanding its operations to the purification of biogas as to inject biomethane into the gas grid. The implementation of these plans will represent a significant contribution to the development of Poland’s renewable energy sector and the decarbonization of heat and power sources.

Founded in 2007, PGB has been part of TotalEnergies since 2023 and is a joint venture equally owned by TotalEnergies and HitecVision since 2025, combining the experience of a global leader in energy transition with the capital and know-how of one of Europe’s leading renewable energy investors.
